Ingredients

- 2 tomatoes, finely chopped
- 10 shallots (small onions), peeled
- 2 green chilies, slit
- 1 tbsp ginger-garlic paste
- ½ tsp turmeric powder
- 1 tsp red chili powder (optional)
- 1 sprig curry leaves
- 2 tbsp cooking oil
- Salt to taste
- 3 cups water
For Garnishing
- Fresh coriander leaves, chopped
Method
Step 1: Sauté the Aromatics
Heat oil in a pressure cooker or deep pan. Add curry leaves, chopped onions, and shallots. Sauté until golden brown.
Step 2: Add Ginger-Garlic Paste
Add ginger-garlic paste and cook until the raw smell disappears.
Step 3: Add Tomatoes
Add chopped tomatoes and cook until soft and mushy.
Step 4: Add Chicken

- Turmeric powder
- Salt

Pour in 3 cups of water. Close the pressure cooker and cook for 5–6 whistles, or simmer in a pan for 40–45 minutes until the chicken becomes tender.
Step 7: Finish & Garnish
Open the cooker, check consistency, and simmer for another 5 minutes if needed. Garnish with fresh coriander leaves.
