Ingredients

  • 3 potatoes, boiled and mashed coarsely
  • 1 tsp Manakkadu Curry Masala
  • 1 onion, finely chopped
  • 1-2 green chillies, chopped
  • 1 tsp ginger, grated
  • ½ tsp turmeric powder
  • ½ tsp mustard seeds
  • 1 tsp urad dal
  • 1 sprig curry leaves
  • 1 tbsp oil
  • Juice of ½ lemon
  • Salt and coriander to garnish

Method

Step 1: Temper

Heat oil, splutter mustard and urad dal; add curry leaves, green chillies and ginger.

Step 2: Saute onion

Add onion and saute till soft.

Step 3: Add spice

Add turmeric, salt and Manakkadu Curry Masala; saute briefly.

Step 4: Add potato

Add mashed potato and mix gently till everything is coated and warmed through.

Step 5: Finish

Switch off, add lemon juice and coriander; toss lightly.

Serving Suggestions

Serve hot with:

  • Hot rice with dal
  • Chapati / pooris
  • Curd rice
  • As a sandwich filling
